Twenty-five years building technology at IBM, E*TRADE, and Pitney Bowes. Enterprise systems at scale, production infrastructure for millions of users, integrations that could not fail. When the work was in San Francisco, I was in San Francisco. New York, Seattle, Dallas, LA, Connecticut, Virginia, Maine. Wherever the problem was, that is where I went.
Most engineers go deep in one direction. I went deep in all of them. Code, AI, automation, SRE, infrastructure, Windows, Linux, networking, databases, integrations. Not as a generalist who knows a little of everything, but as someone who has built production systems at each layer and knows exactly how they fail. That combination is rare. It means one person can see the whole system, own the whole problem, and fix it without a committee.
The four-phase model came from watching what breaks when you skip steps. AI projects launched without a data model. Infrastructure provisioned without automation. Integrations wired without a semantic layer. They all came back around to do it right. Watkins Labs exists so your organization does not have to learn that lesson the hard way.
